The Kirsten Winter and Chris Peirce duo (2000-2010) played acoustic jazz drawing not only from jazz standards but also from blues, folk and more contemporary sources - songs by artists such as Paul Simon, Bob Dylan, Bill Withers, Janis Joplin, Mark Knopfler, Sting, Isaac Guillory.
Rich, intimate vocals and technical, moody guitar interweave, condensing what several musicians would normally be playing. One minute you will be singing along, the next you will be stopped short by an intricate guitar solo, some scat, or by the emotions of the moment. Their interpretations of great songs are both sensitive and spontaneous.
Although they are no longer gigging as a duo, you can still enjoy the experience (albeit not the full experience) by listening on CD.
And we hope there will be more opportunities to hear them live in due course...
